>My Top Ten Films While Waiting For Him To Heal

>

(I made this in ICU, while I stayed overnight with Rob.
My cashmere cardigan kept me warm all night. It’s sweater time)

It has been 2 weeks since Rob’s accident and he is doing so much better. We basically crashed in front of the TV, watching lots of great movies. I am a big fan of suspense/mystery films and also Australian films. Some of my favorite films seen were:
1.
Breakdown (1997) – Action/Adventure, Mystery/Suspense, Drama. Starring Kurt Russell. His wife goes missing while they are driving through a desolate part of the Southwest, and he frantically searches for her.
2.

Samson and Delilah (2009) – Romance, Art House, International, Drama, International – Tragedy strikes two neighbors in a small isolated community in the Central Australian desert. They turn their backs on home and embark on a journey of survival.

3.

Danny Deckchair (2003) – Comedy, International – Based on a true story, the tale of a cement truck driver named Danny, who escapes his grim life in suburban Australia and blasts into the skies in a chair tied with helium balloons.

4.
An Education (2009) – Drama, Art House, International – A coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in 1960s London, and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age.
5.
[Rec] (2007) – Horror, Art House, International – A team of local TV reporters are following a squad of firemen on night duty. The footage is completely live and the first job of the night is to rescue an old lady. The routine rescue soon takes a sinister turn.
6.
Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975) – Mystery/Suspense, Art House, Drama, International – Three students and a school teacher disappear on an excursion to Hanging Rock, in Victoria, on Valentine’s Day 1900. Mesmerizing film with a enigma at the core. Nothingness is the biggest threat of all.
7.
Sweetgrass (2009) – Western, Special Interest, Documentary – A group of shepherds take a herd of sheep on one final time through the Beartooth Mountains of Montana, in the extreme northwest of the United States. It is a journey of almost 300 kilometers through expansive green valleys, fields of snow, teaming with wolves and grizzly bears.
8.
The Burrowers (2008) – Horror, Mystery/Suspense – A band of courageous men sets out to find and recover a family of settlers that has been mysteriously vanished from their homes. Expecting the offenders to be a band of fierce Native Americans, the group prepares for a routine battle. But they soon discover that the real enemy stalks them from below.
9.
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005) – Mystery/Suspense, Drama, International – In Texas near the Mexico border, a newcomer border patrolman mistakenly kills a Mexican cowboy and friend of the rancher Pete Perkins. When Pete finds out his best friend has been killed, he presses the local sheriff to find the killer but once he finds out who it is, he takes matters in his own hands.
10.
Sin Nombre (2008) – Mystery & Suspense, Drama, International – After murdering his gang’s leader, a teenager joins a family of Honduran immigrants making the dangerous journey across Mexico to the United States, avoiding fellow gang members who have been sent to kill him along the way.
